What is Detox?

Inpatient Detox is a level of care that requires medically managed services with 24 hour nursing care.  Counseling is also provided to engage patients to establish a foothold in early recovery.  Starting recovery at a quality inpatient medical detox facility will bolster your chance of achieving successful and sustained sobriety.

Addiction in the United States

Americans have long suffered from drug and alcohol addiction but recent statistics show that we are now in the midst of an epidemic.  According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse, more than 30% of opioid deaths (from overdose) were the result of mixing benzo’s and opioids.  Between 1999 and 2017 US overdoses associated with benzodiazepines grew by a factor of about ten.

An in depth analysis by the CDC reveals that drug overdoses killed 63,632 Americans in 2016. Nearly two-thirds of these deaths (66%) involved a prescription or illicit opioid.

How an Inpatient Detox Can Ease the Recovery Process

Fearing withdrawal is a common barrier to starting recovery.  In many cases, patients addicted to drugs or alcohol have attempted to quit in the past, only to have the cravings and withdrawal symptoms push them back to active addiction.

For this reason, the potential for relapse is high during early recovery. Tolerance can change quickly, and when people end up taking a large dose to fill their cravings, they can end up fatally overdosing.

Aside from keeping patients safe during withdrawal, an effective program will work to keep patients as comfortable as possible during the process. Qualified staff will monitor your health, nutrition and overall stability 24 hours a day.

A medically assisted detox may be required if you struggle with the following substances:
